Problem

The problem we faced

Planning, stock and cost information was kept in separate spreadsheets. It was impossible to see what stage orders were at, and the actual cost could only be estimated at the end of the period.

Solution

The approach we developed

We developed a custom manufacturing ERP consisting of product tree, work order, warehouse, quality and costing modules. Production is reported on the shop floor with barcode handheld terminals; the planning screen shows capacity and delay risks. Integration with the accounting software eliminated double entry.
